Born and raised in Austin, Texas, 22-year-old Kayla Katz has a gift she's eager to share with the world. With a velvety smooth voice mature beyond her years, the singer-songwriter is filled with musical passion. 

Kayla has enjoyed a deep love of music since early childhood. Music has always been a centerpiece of the Katz family: nearly everyone in the immediate and extended family is musical. So when Kayla began playing guitar, she knew she was a part of the next generation, tasked with carrying on the family’s heart-centered style of music. 

As the singer-songwriter has grown, she has maintained her soulful passion for the craft, while establishing her own roots in the industry. Her favorite part of performing, she says, is witnessing her music move people to deep emotion. In a profession that can become incredibly audience-driven, Kayla has also learned the value of singing to honor her emotions and personal truth. "If it's not authentic to true human experience I won't be putting it out there." Her style can best be described as a mash up of folk-acoustic that comes together to create an interpersonal experience with her audience as well as a fresh take on roots of faith.  

Kayla was not raised in a Christian household, but discovered her connection to Christ in college, after joining a College ministry. Her deep connection to God has allowed her to incorporate faith into her songwriting, though she does not consider herself an explicitly Christian artist.
